Does the Meta Quest 3 need wifi or a PC to work?
No. Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S headsets are fully standalone. They do not need a PC, cables or a constant internet connection to work. We pre-load all games and experiences onto the headsets before delivery so they are completely ready to use when they arrive. A wifi connection is only needed if you want to add new content during the hire period.
Can you load our custom VR app onto the headsets?
Yes. Send us your APK built for Meta Quest in Unity or Unreal Engine and we will sideload, test and configure it on every headset before dispatch. We have been sideloading custom apps onto Meta Quest hardware since 2021 and test each headset individually before it leaves our warehouse. No extra charge for custom app loading.
How many headsets do I need for my event?
For a corporate event of 50–100 guests over 3 hours, we recommend 4–6 headsets running 5–7 minute sessions. For trade shows requiring continuous flow, 8–10 headsets. For smaller birthday parties of 10–20 guests, 2–4 headsets works well. We advise on the right number based on your guest count, venue layout and event duration.
What is the difference between Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S?
The Quest 3 has a higher resolution display (2064×2208 vs 1832×1920 per eye) and wider field of view — better for premium demos and high-fidelity experiences. The Quest 3S runs the same apps and games at a lower price point — ideal for events, schools and group hire. We advise which suits your specific use case when you enquire.
Do you have a shopfront I can visit to see the headsets?
Apsis VR operates as a delivery and managed service business. All equipment is dispatched from our Melbourne warehouse. Developer and research clients can arrange collection by appointment. Contact us on 03 9088 6232 to organise it. For all other hires, we deliver directly to your venue pre-configured and ready to use.
